At 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21st and 9:00 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, Bishop Edward S. Little II will preach and celebrate the Eucharist at Christ the King Episcopal Church. A reception will follow the Sunday service. The church is located at 1224 North Jefferson St. in Huntington.
Little became bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Indiana in 2000 after serving parishes in Illinois and California . A graduate of the University of Southern California and Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, he holds an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Seabury-Western. He is the author of “Ears to Hear: Recognizing and Responding to God’s Call” (2003) and “Joy in Disguise: Meeting Jesus in the Dark Times” (2009).
Christ the King is a welcoming parish whose members are active in such community organizations as the Boys and Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, Love INC, and the Little Blessings Day Care Ministry, which is located in the church’s undercroft.
