Huntington Upward basketball played on Saturday at College Park and Central Christian Church. Our camera man, Scott Hammel, took some great shots of intense basketball action cheered on by Upward cheerleaders. Each game was started with a prayer to our Maker thanking him for the wonderful kids that participate in the league. After a half of basketball, the crowd enjoyed a thoughtful and inspired message by Janet Clark. League Director, Gary Mast, said that each half-time devotion mirrors the practice devotions so that the Godly message is re-enforced during the game. The parents and children also enjoy a well stocked concession stand manned by friendly volunteers.
Gary also mentioned that next Saturday is the last game of the season followed up by Awards Night at the First Church of the Nazarene on Sunday at 3 p.m. Huntington Upward invited magician, Nathan Jorris, to entertain the kids and deliver the Gospel message.
Enjoy Scott's pictures taken at College Park.
