Fifth Grade Andrew's Elementary Students studied Environmental Art with a focus on the elements of form and space while using unexpected materials - ice and their school courtyard. Students planned for their sculptures by sketching a design, collecting recycled plastic materials and balloons, as well as paints; they then set everything in the courtyard and waited for the freezing to take place... The First Grade students at Andrews Elementary were deeply saddened to see the desperation of the victims of the Haiti earthquake. They decided to sell bottles of water during the morning. They chose to donate the money earned to The American Red Cross for their continued relief efforts in Haiti

Fifth grade students at Andrews Elementary participated in the annual spelling bee on Friday, January 8, 2010. The spelling bee lasted 14 rounds with Logan Sizemore correctly spelling "enfranchise" to take 1st place. Sarah Hunnicutt was the runner-up.

They read and compared many different versions of the story, The Gingerbread Man, through a variety of literature activities.

The were there to participate with three foreign language classes to learn more about the customs and tradition of each country with the help of the high school students.

What is a "sign club"? It is an awesome club where students come to learn how to speak to the deaf and hard of hearing, using sign language.
