Andrews 2nd Graders Go Shopping

By Katie Davidson on Wednesday, February 9th, 2011 | Bookmark and Share

The second graders from Andrews Elementary practiced math while helping others. Jody Schroeder and Cindy Schenkel’s classes visited Aldi Supermarket in Huntington where they spent money they raised at their Holiday Market sale to buy groceries for those in need. They practiced counting coins and estimating prices to stay within their grocery budget. Aldi management and personnel assisted the children with the checkout and gave them a store tour. The children then bagged their groceries and traveled to the Huntington First Church of the Nazarene food pantry where they stocked the shelves and learned about the pantry.
