The Optimist Club of Huntington awarded their February 2011 Youth Appreciation Awards to the following Crestview Middle School students:
Kaitlyn Oswalt and Caleb Landrum have been recognized as students of the year for the 8th grade at Crestview during the 2010-2011 school year.
KAITLYN OSWALT
Daughter of Chris and Heather Oswalt
Kaitlyn is involved in volleyball, basketball, band, Bible Study, Campus Life, Student Leaders, track manager, and Student Council. She is on the All-A’s Honor Roll and participates in Church Youth Group, 4-H and Softball.
CALEB LANDRUM
Son of Jim and Amy Landrum
Caleb is involved in football, basketball, band, Campus Life and Student Leaders. He is a member of the All-A’s Honor Roll and Honor Society. He also participates in Indiana Elite AAU Basketball and Baseball.
The motto of Optimist International is “Friend of Youth”. In keeping with this motto, the Huntington Optimist Club has designated its Optimist Youth Appreciation Award to recognize a few of the outstanding young people in our community.
The Youth Appreciation Award is awarded each year to two (2) students from each of the Huntington County Middle Schools and three (3) students from Huntington North High School who demonstrate outstanding dedication and service to their school, the community and its citizens. The Youth Appreciation Award winners are announced and presented at a Huntington Optimist Club meeting.

May – Huntington North High School
