Keep the parents informed? Seriously? How about the community? How about the teachers? How about the students?

I still cannot accept that this is a good solution to the problem. I still can't accept that we are so fiscally behind that the teachers pay is frozen yet Mr. Shafer can get a raise. I still can't accept that there will need to be "minor renovations" to utilize Horace Mann for administration offices. NO!!! If there is no money, then there is no money. The students, teachers and staff have been using the building cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The building was usable for them, therefore it is "move in ready". The current school board had better think long and hard before spending even 1 nickel on any "renovation". And I think the community should still band together and say NO......this doesn't work for us!! And if you don't want your child on the bus for an hour or more, put in for a transfer. Like I have said before, we transferred our son to Horace Mann due to the excellent staff as well as not agreeing with the way our elementary school is run. Thankfully, our son is a 5th grader and this ridiculous situation will not affect him. However, in 2 years when our youngest daughter needs to start kindergarten, I guess we will have to look to alternative education. Sad, very sad.

And to the Horace Mann teachers, staff and principal......you will be missed.
