HCS Spelling Bee Winners

On Wednesday, January 11, 2012  the following students participated in the annual Huntington Catholic School Spelling Bee.

 

Grade Five:  Gavin DeLaGrange, Amara Eckert, Martin Harold, Dylan Hasty, Jacklin

                        Ness

 

Grade Six: Ian Broderick, Maytelin Miller, Michael Molitor, Garrett Scheiber, Rees Zay

 

Grade Seven: Shelby Bowman, Brie-anna Coburn, Janessa Dodson, John Hipskind, Max

                        Pyle

 

Grade Eight: Kristopher Dunn, Lia King, Emily Klepper, Trevor McGuin, Derek Teusch

 

Lia King, daughter of Michael  King, won the bee in the 11th  round by spelling irritability correctly.  Emily Klepper, daughter of Cynthia Klepper was the runner-up.  Lia will compete at the County Spelling Bee on Monday, February 6 at Huntington University. 

 

The coordinators of the Bee were Mrs. Michelle Kindle and Ms. Denise Zahm.  The judges were  Mrs. Angela Grube, Mrs. Kindle and Ms. Zahm.  Mr. Jason Woolard was the pronouncer.
