Ivy Tech Community College−Northeast and The Language Company are entering into an agreement to provide opportunities to international and ESL students.
The agreement includes plans for delivering an English as a Second Language instructional program on campus, attracting international students to Ivy Tech−Northeast, and working jointly to develop and conduct other domestic and international programs.
“We are planning to offer intensive English sessions to international students who attend Ivy Tech Community College–Northeast, and will be actively building partnerships with other area colleges to provide their potential students with an English as a Second Language program,”said Andrea Robinson Hinsey, dean of the School of Business. “Additionally, local students can work through The Language Company to take classes to improve their English capabilities.”
Sessions will be offered on a monthly basis and will serve an anticipated 50 or more students per session.
The institutions aim to assist students in acquiring the language skills for mastering the English language, as well as to prepare students for successful participation in the intellectual, cultural and social challenges of post-secondary education in the United States.
