Lincoln Elementary School will send student, parent and teacher representatives to programs on the subject of Economic Education in the coming weeks.

On Friday, September 25, a group will attend the Indiana Council for Economic Education's annual awards banquet at the Indianapolis Statehouse. Fifth-graders Becca, Megan and Paige Berry; parent Tammy Berry; and teachers Brandi Cross, Stacia McElhaney, and Margaret Griffin will present an exhibit and answer questions about the school's annual mini mall.

Afterwards, Griffin will receive one of the regional Olin W. Davis Awards given by the ICEE annually. In October, Griffin will also take part in a panel discussion at a financial literacy teacher workshop in Seymour. Sponsored by the office of Secretary of State Todd Rokita, it will center on new currculum requirements and best practices in teaching.
