Walk to School

On Friday, September 24th, Lincoln Elementary participated in a “Walk to School Day.” Everyone met at Hier’s Park between 7:15-7:25 a.m. and walked from that location to Lincoln. According to the numbers reported by Mrs. Hesting, the physical education instructor, we had approximately 90 students, 90 family members and 22 faculty. Although there was no actual count, there was a good number of walkers in attendance. The weather was perfect! It was warm, with a nice breeze and no rain. The kids were excited and many ran ahead of the slower adults. The Huntington Police provided safe passage across the intersection and on behalf of the Lincoln Elementary participants; we would like to send a special thank you to those officers who so patiently waited for us to cross at the intersection. If you didn’t get a chance to walk with us this year, make sure to watch for details for next year’s walk. It was fun and set a positive tone for the rest of the day!
