Math-tastic! The fifth grade math Bowl team from Northwest Elementary recently competed in their region for the state-wide math elementary competition (MATH Bowl).

Northwest Celebrates 4-STAR Designation

Students, faculty, and staff created a 30 foot tall "NW" as part of the celebration of their designation, from the state of Indiana, as a 4-STAR school.

Northwest's 3rd Grade Social Action

Third grade students are sorting pasta and dish soap at Northwest Elementary School.
As part of a social action project, the third grade students are encouraged to do extra chores at home to earn money to pay for items such as noodles or dish soap.

Northwest Celebrates 4 Star Award

Students and staff at Northwest Elementary had a mini-celebration in honor of the school receiving 4 star status from the Indiana Department of Education. Out of 750 schools in Indiana only 188 (25%) were awarded this award. Only 3 achieved this status in Huntington County. Four criteria areas are looked at for a school to receive this award: 1) ISTEP Math performance, 2) ISTEP Language – Reading performance, 3) attendance, and 4) Percent of students passing both Language and Math on ISTEP...
