Third grade students are sorting pasta and dish soap at Northwest Elementary School.
As part of a social action project, the third grade students are encouraged to do extra chores at home to earn money to pay for items such as noodles or dish soap.

Students and staff at Northwest Elementary had a mini-celebration in honor of the school receiving 4 star status from the Indiana Department of Education. Out of 750 schools in Indiana only 188 (25%) were awarded this award. Only 3 achieved this status in Huntington County. Four criteria areas are looked at for a school to receive this award: 1) ISTEP Math performance, 2) ISTEP Language – Reading performance, 3) attendance, and 4) Percent of students passing both Language and Math on ISTEP...
