Salamonie students help Principal Rick Reed in loading supplies for delivery to Mission of Hope in Haiti. Mission of Hope is an orphanage, hospital and school in the quake ravaged country. Mission of Hope's President is former Huntington resident Brad Johnson. The Salamonie School student council recently sponsored the annual food drive to assist families in need in the Warren and Markle areas.
Students in grades K-8 donated over 2,600 food items to the Warren and Markle food pantries. The food drive was a huge success, and once again shows what the Rebel spirit is all about in our community!

Salamonie School held a school wide pep session Monday afternoon to acknowledge all the student/athletes who participated in a fall sports program this year. Special recognition was awarded to the 8th grade football team as they were presented with the County Champions trophy! The football team finished the season with an outstanding 5-1 record, and as Coach Dave Sipe noted, "The first Salamonie team in over 20 years to beat both Crestview and Riverview in the same season!"

This group of Huntington University students spent Saturday afternoon working with Salamonie School teacher Mr. Mark Buzzard, Principal Rick Reed and Assistant Principal Brad Ludlow clearing brush, spreading mulch and general clean-up of the trails and outdoor classroom at Salamonie.

On Monday, August 10th the combined bands from Salamonie and Riverview Middle Schools performed at Indiana Beach.
