NOTICE TO BIDDERS

HUNTINGTON, INDIANA

WATER POLLUTION CONTROL

 

ANAEROBIC DIGESTER NO. 2

COVER REPLACEMENT AND MIXING IMPROVEMENTS

 

The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Huntington, Indiana will receive sealed bids for the Anaerobic Digester No. 2 Cover and Mixing Improvements until the hour of 9:00 a.m. local time on December 6, 2010, at Huntington City Building, City Clerk/Treasurer, 300 Cherry Street, Huntington, Indiana 46750, for the completion of the work hereinafter listed.  After said time, all bids will be taken to the Mayor’s Conference Room of the City Building and there be publicly opened and read aloud.  Bids received after said time will be returned unopened.  No oral, telephoned, telegraphed, or facsimile bids or changes to bids will be considered.

 

The Work comprises furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supplies and services for anaerobic digester cover and mixing system improvements.  The Work includes, but is not limited to, the removal and disposal of the existing floating cover, cleaning Anaerobic Digester No. 2 and the installation of a new, gasholder cover including structural modifications and repair to digester, two external draft tube mixers, including piping modifications, and associated electrical, instrumentation and control and all appurtenances for a complete installation as shown and specified.

 

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on November 22, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. local time at the Water Pollution Control Plant, 20 Hitzfield Street, Huntington, Indiana 46750.  All bidders are encouraged to attend and participate in the conference.

 

Financing for the project will be through the State Revolving Fund, administered by the Indiana Finance Authority and all applicable rules and regulations shall apply.  The participation goal for Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) for this contract is five percent (5%).  The participation goal for Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) for this contract is six percent (6%).

 

Wage rates for the Work shall be not less than the Davis-Bacon wage scale.

 

The bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier’s check or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price made in favor of the City of Huntington, Indiana, which amount shall accrue to and become the property of the City should the Bidder, awarded a contract, fail to enter into the required written agreement and secure the same with the required one hundred percent (100%) performance, payment, and guarantee bond.

 

Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained from the office of Greeley and Hansen, 6640 Intech Boulevard, Suite 180, Indianapolis IN, (317) 924-3380 upon the payment of $100.00 for each set.

 

Bids remain in effect for ninety (90) days.  The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities of bidding.
