The public is invited to attend a meeting for the reconstruction of Huntington’s Etna Avenue at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13, in the cafeteria of Riverview Middle School, 2465 Waterworks Rd, Huntington, IN.  Please enter building from the north through door #1.

At this meeting, a presentation describing the project will be shared.  Those attending will be asked to participate in an information gathering exercise.

The Huntington Engineer’s Office is hosting the meeting along with representatives from The Schneider Corp. A map will be on display showing the proposed project limits, tentatively scheduled to begin in fall of 2013 along Etna Avenue from the Wabash River Bridge Jessup Street.

“The Etna Avenue project will improve existing infrastructure to ensure safety for travelers of all kinds along the route as well as encourage economic development in that area.  The project will create an outfall for storm drainage along the route to assist the property owners in the area with flooding issues,” said Dave Schoeff, Huntington’s Director of Engineering.

The City of Huntington is also seeking community and neighborhood volunteers to serve on the Project’s Community Advisory Committee (CAC). Interested CAC volunteers should sign up during the December 13 public meeting or contact Huntington’s Engineer’s Office by December 17.

Additional information can be found on the Etna Avenue Project Website at http://www.etnaaveproject.com/.

They really need to put sidewalks along Etna Avenue all the way out to the schools.
