Huntington Park Board decision...

By Steve McIntyre on Wednesday, December 1st, 2010 | Bookmark and Share

At our next meeting we will be voting on a proposed ordinance which will eliminate the current Park Board and replace it with an "advisory" board. There are pros and cons to both sides of this issue. I am asking for input from Park Board members, the city administration, and the general public. I am also urging all citizens to contact the Park Board members and the City Administration (Mayor's Office) to better educate yourselves on the matter and to attend our December 14th meeting (7:00 PM) to voice your opinion and concerns. Park Board members can be found at: http://www.huntington.in.us/city/department/board.php?fDD=11-41 and the Mayor can be contacted at: http://www.huntington.in.us/city/department/?fDD=4-0

We finally have a great working park board and staff! What do our local polititians want to do, is to mess it up. If our local politians could do their jobs half as good as the park board does, we would have a great place to live! So you gave some company 60,000 plus dollars to tell you how to run this city and you still can not make up your minds as to what to do. It seems to me that the best thing we as a city could do is to fire the whole mess of you because you are incapable of doing the jobs you were elected to do in the first place. Leave the park board alone and get along with the real jobs you were elected to do. Right now the park board should be the least of your problems. The last time they removed Mrs. Bard from the park board it took but a short time for it to become disfunctional mess and and she was brought back to clean it up and now you want to take it out of her hands once more. Will our city government never get it right?
