Annual Ladies Day at the Fair

The annual Ladies Day at the Fair will be held on Monday, July 26, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. under a canopy at the west side of the Family Living Building at Hier’s Park, Huntington. This event, sponsored by Huntington County Extension Homemakers, is free to the public and will offer presentations on a wide variety of topics of interest to women.
At 1:00 pm, Sharon Laupp will give a presentation with information about Therapy Dogs. These specially trained dogs visit nursing homes to give residents a chance to interact with them.
Jean Gernand from German Heritage of Huntington County beginning at 2:00 pm. She will share information about the history of the area. At 3:00 pm “Container Gardening” will be given by Sharon Bowman, Purdue Extension Master Gardener. Sharon will give ideas on how to use containers when outdoor gardening may not be an option. For the final presentation, Huntington County Extension Educator, Karen Hinshaw will present “Add a Little Spice to Your Life” at 4:00 pm. Karen will share information about storage, uses and substitutions for spices and herbs.. Please join this afternoon of fun. Door prizes will be awarded at each session. Ladies Day at the Fair is held in conjunction with the Huntington County 4-H Fair.
The Touch of Class Cookie Contest will be immediately following Ladies Day.
