HUNTINGTON, IN—The Harlem Ambassadors will play a basketball game against a team of local players at 7 p.m. on Oct. 14 in the Huntington North High School gymnasium.
The Harlem Ambassadors professional show basketball game is a family-friendly community fundraiser. Since 1998, Harlem Ambassadors Inc. has partnered with hundreds of non-profit organizations in 49 states and 19 countries. A Harlem Ambassadors show includes high-flying slam dunks, displays of ball-handling skills and comedy routines with stunts.
As part of this event, Huntington University will hold a convocation promoting abstinence from drugs and alcohol for all fifth graders of Huntington County on the morning of the game. Students will be bused to the Merillat Complex for Physical Education and Recreation where the Harlem Ambassadors will conduct the program.
The team of local players, the Huntington Tail Twisters, includes several former Huntington University basketball players, former Huntington North High School basketball players and members of the Huntington business community.
Tickets are $3 in advance or $4 at the door. They may be purchased at the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce, First Federal Savings Bank (north, downtown and south), Wells Fargo Bank, National City/PNC Bank, Teacher’s Credit Union, Bippus State Bank (north and south), 1st Source Bank and Coffee D’Vine. This event is sponsored by the Lions Club of Huntington, and funds raised will support youth programs in Huntington County.
