Fort Wayne Strength and Conditioning, along with Parkview Physicians Group and Parkview Labs, will sponsor their second “Best Shape of your Life Challenge,” kicking off Feb. 13.
Winners of the six-week challenge will receive cash prizes for the most improved workout time, most improved body composition, and greatest weight-loss percentage.
The registration fee includes a comprehensive fitness assessment measuring body weight and fat as well as resting heart rate and blood pressure; lab tests before and after the challenge; a baseline workout; weekly body weight and fat check-ins; conference calls discussing nutrition, fitness and behavior modification; access to the coaching staff at Fort Wayne Strength and Conditioning to answer exercise and diet questions; a tracking system for how participants eat, sleep and move; a spinal screening from HealthSource Chiropractic of Fort Wayne Northwest; and a nutrition seminar.
The entire challenge, if priced out separately would cost approximately $635, but because of the sponsoring organizations, the registration fee is just $129. Fort Wayne Strength and Conditioning also is offering special six-week group or individual training packages for an additional fee.
Registration begins Friday, Jan. 13, and participants can sign up online at www.fortwaynestrengthandconditioning.com. With questions, contact Fort Wayne Strength and Conditioning at (260) 483-1936 or fwsc@live.com.
“‘The Best Shape of Your Life Challenge’ gives Northeast Indiana residents the opportunity to improve the way they eat, sleep, and move,” said Justin Springer, owner of Fort Wayne Strength and Conditioning. “Participants who focused on these critical areas during our first challenge experienced dramatic results – from lost pounds and inches to improved cholesterol and blood sugar. Along with Parkview Physicians Group and Parkview Labs, we look forward to cultivating a legacy of health and fitness in Northeast Indiana.”
The first “Best Shape of your Life Challenge” ran from Oct. 2 to Nov. 13, 2011, with 75 participants. The 33 participants who took part in the before and after weigh-ins lost a combined total of 235 pounds in six weeks. Josh and Heather Barkley, a married couple from Ossian, Ind., took on the challenge together and lost a combined total of 45 pounds.
