This weekend in Hartford City the air will be filled with the smell of black powder and stew cooking over open fires.

Civil War Days opens to the public on Saturday, October 10 at 8:00 a.m. with a small ceremony at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Hartford City.

Many sights and sounds throughout Saturday and Sunday will keep people entertained.  President Lincoln will be there, as well as other impersonators giving talks and also having demonstrations of civil war-era duties. Both period and non-period food vendors will also be there to satisfy your food cravings.

Huntington's own Company Singers will be performing in tent #1 at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday and the Champion Hill Toppers Vintage Base Ball club takes on the Cincinnati Buckeyes in their version of the 'Battle between the States' at 10:30 a.m.

There will be skirmishes during the two days and the Saturday 'battle' starts at 4 p.m.  On Sunday the 'battle' will begin at 2 p.m.  Also, there will be a 'night firing' of the cannons on Saturday night making for a grand show.

Civil War Days in Hartford City is now the largest civil war event in indiana and continues to grow with every year.

Bring the family out on Saturday and/or Sunday and see America in a different light and how things were done in the 1860s.

The park is located on SR 26E in Hartford City, IN.  Just follow the 'CW' signs.  The hours on Saturday are 8 a.m.-10:30 p.m. and on Sunday, 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
