Ivy Tech Mystery Basket Winners

Each January, the Ivy Tech Community College–Northeast Department of Hospitality Administration conducts a “Mystery Basket Competition” for students who would like to participate and possibly earn a spot in the college’s trip to study culinary arts abroad in the spring.

Northeast student Austin Barron will be featured on an upcoming episode of MTV’s reality show MADE. The tentative air date is scheduled to air Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at 4 p.m. Eastern. MTV has notified the college that the day and time is subject to change.

Local Student Gets Perfect Score on ACT

HFP would like to congratulate Kayla Snabl, daughter of Jim and Bev Snabl of Huntington, for receiving a perfect score on the ACT.  Kayla is a senior at Canterbury High School and is a member of Team T.H.R.U.S.T. 1501, Huntington County's 4H Robotics Team.  Congratulation Kayla!

VN Sister lends aid in aftermath

In the many years of her ministry as a chaplain at University Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz., Sister Dolores Tringl has seen her share of tragedy.

But nothing had prepared her for what happened last Saturday.

Hospital in need of Volunteers

Parkview Huntington Hospital is in need of volunteers to assist in the delivery of food for its Homebound Meals program. Noontime meals are delivered Monday through Friday within the city limits of Huntington.

Parkview Huntington Hospital’s first baby of 2011 is Scarlett Ann Moreno, born to Lauren Moreno, of Andrews, Ind., on Jan. 2 at 6:33 a.m. The baby was delivered by Anil Rao, MD, of Huntington.
