Relay For Life Kick Off

The American Cancer Society is the official sponsor of birthdays! How? By helping people stay well (prevention is our greatest ally), helping people get well (helping cancer patients and their families through the cancer journey), finding cures (through groundbreaking research), and helping people fight back (empowering community events, grassroots advocacy efforts).
Less cancer = more birthday celebrations! That is the theme for this year’s Huntington’s Relay For Life Kick Off to be held on January 18th at 7:00 p.m. in conference rooms 1, 2 & 3 at Parkview Huntington Hospital!
Dawn Miller, this year’s Relay Chair, would like to invite any past relay participants as well as anyone interested in participating, to the birthday celebration to launch Relay For Life of 2010 which will be held June 12 & 13 at Kriegbaum Field. It will be an informative evening filled with information, fundraising ideas, and materials needed for team planning and of course, a celebration of birthdays of those loved ones who have fought and won the battle against cancer!
The first relay for Huntington County was held in 1997 which means we are gearing up for Relay number fourteen! Each participant has their own unique reason why they relay, but all have one common goal…..to find a cure for cancer so that no one has to have their birthday celebrations cut short! Each year, the Relay For Life of Huntington County reaches more survivors, caregivers and those personally affected by cancer. Our goal is to further our programs and services with Huntington County and Northeast Indiana!
The next Team Captain’s meeting will be held Feb. 15 at College Park Church, Room 201 at 7:00pm.
