The Boys & Girls Club of Huntington County is providing children free breakfast and lunch during their summer program. The summer program starts on May 29 and will last until August 10. The Boys & Girls Club of Huntington is holding their 7th annual Steak & Burger on Tuesday, April 24th at Crestview Middle School. This tradition consists of Club youth eating steaks with their dinners and the adults eating hamburgers.

The Boys & Girls Club celebrated the oncoming year by hosting a party Thursday, December 29. Starting at 6:00 pm and concluding with a paper mache ball-drop at midnight. Over 90 kids attended the party and participated in activities that included a Fear Factor eating contest, a “Taco Slam” challenge, a dodge-ball tournament, a writing contest to nominate their mothers as “Mom of the Year,” and a ball drop ceremony, in which staff dropped candy-filled paper mache globes from the balcony... Best Buy of Fort Wayne issued a $5,000 grant to the Boys & Girls Club of Huntington County. The grant is intended to enhance the Middle School/Teen Technology Center the Club is developing. The Boys & Girls Club of Huntington is rolling out a brand new initiative starting this school year called, Be GREAT, Graduate! The program based on the evidence based curriculum Check & Connect, focuses on youth in grades 5-8 to spend 1-on-1 time with an adult mentor. The initiative lasts for 3 years, youth meet weekly with their mentors, tracking the students': grades, weekly assignments, school behavior, test scores as well as working with them on self-esteeem, like skills, problem solving, & family engagment...
