Grant writing workshop to be offered

An Introduction to Grant Writing workshop is a 3 hour workshop intended to introduce participants to the basics of grant writing.  The workshop is will help inexperienced writers learn how to write a grant proposal as well as help experienced writers improve their proposal writing skills.   Participants will receive an overview of the grant writing process including a proposal outline, the statement of need, a work plan, outcome objectives and evaluations

4-H Shooting Sports classes to begin

The Huntington County 4-H Shooting Sports program begins on Sunday, February 5 with the first classroom meeting for the 4-H Pistol discipline from 2:00-4:30 pm in the Family Living Building, Hier’s Park, Huntington.  4-H members interested in taking the pistol classes and their parents must complete the necessary enrollment forms and pay the $20 registration fee and the $15 state 4-H Program fee no later than the February 5th classroom meeting...      The Huntington County 4-H Leaders Organization recently recognized the winners of the 2012 Huntington County 4-H Theme/Design Contest.  The following youth received recognition for their participation in this annual contest:

                1st place -  Cassie Hacker Lancaster Twp

               2nd place - Kayla Patrick, Clear Creek Twp

               3rd place -  Amanda Pugh, Wayne Twp

Honorable Mention - Olivia Ely, Jackson Twp and Heath Rush, Huntington Twp

Testing Water Sources Prove Beneficial

            Fred Whitford, Purdue Pesticide Programs Coordinator, has made many stops across the state (including Huntington) explaining why pesticide applicators should test water sources before application of chemicals.
