Huntington County Habitat for Humanity’s 7th Annual Big Swing Golf Outing is Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Clear Creek Golf Course, 10930 N. 300 W. Huntington. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a Big Swing day of golf and support your local Habitat for Humanity at the same time. Proceeds from the Big Swing Golf Outing will go towards the construction of the 24th Habitat home, now under construction at 1638 Jessup Street, Huntington.
First place prize is $200, with 2nd and 3rd prizes awarded as well.
Huntington Habitat’s Big Swing Golf Outing is also in celebration of World Habitat Day on October 1, 2011. Registration includes a donation to Habitat of $49 per person or $196 per team of four entitles participants to a round of golf, food at the turn, and lunch and prizes afterward.
To register, golfers may contact any Habitat Board member or the Habitat office at 260.356.7425 or at email@example.com. On-site registration begins at 9:15 a.m. October 1st, with the Florida Scramble starting at 10:00 a.m.
Another way individuals and organizations can be involved is to donate prizes and giveaways for the golfers. Tee or hole sponsorships are also available for $100, and Habitat will display the sponsor’s name on the course in acknowledgement of the support.
During the first week of October Habitat for Humanity International is celebrating its 35th year of helping people acquire a decent place to live. Before the end of the year, Habitat for Humanity will recognize the 500,000th family served through Habitat partnerships around the world. Habitat affiliates are working to eliminate substandard housing in nearly 90 countries, and in most Indiana counties. Indiana Habitat affiliates will complete their 3500th home this year, and Huntington County Habitat for Humanity is currently constructing its 24th home in Huntington County.
