The Huntington County Historical Society will host bus tours of historic houses and buildings in the downtown area on Saturday, June 18. Narrated by Mrs. Jean Gernand, historical information about the architecture and the original owners will be shared at each site visited. The homes of notable Huntington citizens such as D.A. Purviance, J. Wallace Caswell, Enos Taylor, and Julius and Jake Dick will be included in the tour, as well as a number of historic business locations.
Tours will leave the Historical Museum, 315 Court Street, at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $3.00 for adults and $1.50 for students and include museum admission. Tickets are available at the museum in advance or at the door on a first-come basis. The museum will be open to the public following the Heritage Days Parade from noon until 5:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be available for a free will donation.
