The Huntington County Historical Society will hold an open meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. at the Historical Museum.
In addition to election of officers and board of directors, the annual Virginia Miller Award for historic preservation will be presented at the meeting. Named for its first recipient, this award was first given in 1984 to recognize significant contributions in preserving our heritage. Some previous recipients include Jean Gernand, Russel Spath, Judge Mark McIntosh, Michael Perkins, and Robert Fettinger.
Doll artist Sandra Mitchell will present the program for the evening. Sandra has been making dolls for 22 years, and will have a number of them on display.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting, and attendees will have opportunity to tour the museum and enjoy special holiday exhibits.
The museum is located at 315 Court Street.
