Back-to-School Fair on July 31

By Rick Henly on Friday, July 16th, 2010 | Bookmark and Share

Love INC will hold its eighth annual Back-to-School Fair on Saturday, July 31, to help families in need get their children ready for the new school year.

“Last year, our community really got behind this important outreach,” says Love INC Executive Director Bill Fetrow.  “Together, we served 398 students and their families. These children received clothing, backpacks, haircuts and school supplies. Now, due to our struggling economy, we anticipate an even greater number of students will need our help this year.”

He says the fair is a community-wide event, coordinated through Love INC and sponsored by Wells Fargo this year. “They will help with our promotion expenses, including the Big Tent that will house lots of activities that day,” Fetrow adds.

Love INC is partnering with churches, youth groups, Sunday school classes, businesses, clubs and service organizations. The goal is to provide three sets of gently used or new clothing for each student, along with new underwear and new socks. Jeans are greatly
needed.

Volunteers for this event are also needed. Clothes sorters are needed throughout the month of July. Set-up crews are needed Tuesday, July 27 through Friday, July 30.  On the day of the event, July 31, Love INC will need about 150 workers for either morning or afternoon shifts. Call ahead at 356-0933 to sign up.

Families must call 356-0933 to register for the event in advance.
