Pathfinder Kids Kampus received a check from McDonalds Denise Sather, Parkview Huntington Hospital's Darlene Garrett, David Culp & Company's Dan Boyle, Mettler Agency, Inc.'s Tom Mettler, MarkleBank's Lee Pasko, and El Shaddai's Jason Fields on Friday, December 17th for $9,532 for proceeds raised at the child care center's Turkey Trot fundraiser held on Thanksgiving.
Lisa Mettler, Administrator of Pathfinder Kids Kampus, along with several children from Pathfinder Kids Kampus accepted the check on behalf of the child care center.
The Pathfinder Kids Kampus Turkey Trot generated over $9,532 towards the Pathfinder Kids Kampus Scholarship fund. Overall, the race had 511 Runners/Walkers participate in the 5K and 71 Walkers participate in the one mile fun walk, with an increase of 188 participants from the 2009event, a new record!
"We are extremely grateful for all of the support of our sponsors of this year's event," stated Mettler. "McDonalds was an outstanding host sponsor providing everything from the t-shirts to snacks for our runners. The sixth year of our Turkey Trot was a huge success and we are looking forward to an even better 2011," Mettler concluded.
McDonalds was the host sponsor of the race and donated all of the t-shirts, cash prizes to award winners and provided breakfast and the facilities for race participants. David Culp & Company, Parkview Huntington Hospital, Mettler Agency Inc., and MarkleBank were all sponsors of the event and El Shaddai produced the t-shirts at a discounted rate for the event. Custom Craft donated the trophies to all winners while the Fort Wayne Track Club timed the event.
The 2011 Turkey Trot is set to take place on Thanksgiving Day, November 24th, 2011.
Pathfinder Kids Kampus, Huntington, offers early intervention services along with child care and preschool services for children from infancy to age 12. Pathfinder Kids Kampus is a Paths to QUALITY Provider and is the only licensed child care center in Huntington County. Pathfinder Kids Kampus is an Early Head Start provider for children ages 0-3 and expectant mothers. Currently there are enrollment openings at Kids Kampus for full service child care and Early Head Start services.
