Quayle Center creates 'Wish List'

By Rick Henly on Sunday, July 5th, 2009 | Bookmark and Share

In order to maintain its dedication to educational excellence, the Quayle Center is planning to institute some repairs to the facility, as well as updating its exhibit galleries.  “We’ve had an issue with the roof of our facility which will need to be addressed,” said Executive Director, Daniel Johns.  “I’ve also planned to update our upper exhibit gallery and continue to improve our lower gallery.”

Changes in the upper gallery will include replacing the old wall exhibit fabric with new “Frontrunner” fabric.  “Frontrunner is designed especially for exhibits to that Velcro may stick to it.

Other changes include building new exhibit display cases, as well as creating a “mini theatre area” in the Quayle exhibits to view the film, 'The Week That Was', a  documentary of the 1988 Bush/Quayle rally at the Huntington Courthouse.  “To ensure the students that come here get the best experience possible, we need to keep reinventing the exhibits - making them as fresh and informative as possible for our visitors,” said Johns.

Construction will be completed by Center staff and volunteers.  The goal would be to  have everything completed by the spring school tour season.

If you are interested in helping underwrite this update, please contact the Center at (260) 356-6356 or via email at info@quaylemuseum.org.

Donations may be sent to the Center at P.O. Box 856,  Huntington, IN 46750.  The Center is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  Donations would be tax deductible.
