Pathway Project- Protects from Erosion

The Huntington County Soil and Water Conservation District received a “Building Healthy Communities Grant” from Home Depot for a terracing project along the Wabash River greenway path. The project is designed to help prevent erosion of the soil and stabilize the sloped area.
Assisting with the project is the Huntington North High School Machine Trades class. Students have helped prepare the site and set the terrace timbers; they will assist with planting a variety of plants and will apply mulch to complete the project.
