United Way says thanks you

The United Way held their thank you luncheon Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 at St. Peter’s First Community Church. The luncheon was to thank all who were involved with the 2009 Campaign (donors and volunteers) and to wrap up of the 2009 Campaign.

The United Way funded Agencies provide the food for the luncheon as their way of thanking the community for their support and involvement. This year the agencies provided a yummy spread of Italian foods! Around 130 people were in attendance.

The 2009 Campaign goal of $700,000 was reached and exceeded thanks to the good work of all involved.

Awards are given at the luncheon as a way of recognizing companies and individuals who went above and beyond. The awards given this year went to:
Bob Smith Award: Beacon Credit Union, First Federal Savings Bank, Teachers Credit Union, Huntington County Government Campaign Committee
Ray Vanderspool Award: Kendall Mickley
Campaign Chair’s Award: Ed Vessels
