How Has Immigration Shaped Northeast IN

By Steve Miller on Friday, July 15th, 2011 | Bookmark and Share

Having just celebrated the 4th of July, YWCA Northeast Indiana’s monthly Diversity Dialogue is entitled The Diversity of Independence.  The dialogue will focus on looking at the diversity of those that call the U.S. home.  How has our country, where most celebrate their heritage and identity as a “nation of immigrants,” handled such diversity?

Aaron Smith of the Allen County Public Library Genealogy Center will facilitate this dialogue.  Participants are encouraged to add to the discussion by sharing their own heritage, family stories and experiences regarding immigration.  The discussion will center on what we can learn from our past and today that we can use to build a brighter future.

YWCA Northeast Indiana Diversity Dialogues are open to the public.  Feel free to bring you lunch and join the conversation.
