Barbara J. Ehinger Buzzard

Barbara J. Ehinger Buzzard, 73, passed away at her residence on June 11, 2012.
     Mrs. Buzzard was born September 9, 1938 in Hackensack, NJ to James A. and Gladys M. Payton Paxton.   Her father preceded her in death.
      Barbara graduated from Huntington Township High School in 1956.   She was salutatorian of her graduating class. Her first marriage was to Richard J. Ehinger in 1964. He preceded her in death November 27, 1990. Barbara’s second marriage was to Gerald (Jerry) Buzzard in 1994. He preceded her in death in 2005.
      Mrs. Buzzard was an executive secretary and was employed by Memcor, Community State Bank, Lincoln Life Insurance Company, and IBM, Fort Wayne, IN. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, VFW Auxiliary 2689, American Legion Auxiliary, all of Huntington, IN and Eagles #1738 in Wabash, IN.
     Survivors include: Barbara’s mother: Gladys M. Bardsley, Huntington, IN, one son: Joseph R. Ehinger, Bloomington, IN; five daughters: Ann (Troy) Cozad, Fort Wayne, IN, Sara (Conor) Obrien, Dillon, CO, Jane (Ralph) Johnson, Fort Wayne, IN, Eileen (John) Lindhorst, Silverthorne, CO, and Lois E. Ehinger, Fort Wayne, IN; one brother: James W. (Roberta) Paxton, Fort Wayne, IN; three sisters: Judith (Bruce) Hippensteel, Ligonier, IN, Mary (Richard) Gehrett, Nappenee, IN and Lois (Jerry) Walling, Warren, IN and one granddaughter: Sara Elizabeth Johnson, Fort Wayne, IN.
     A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012       with calling one hour prior to the Mass at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., Huntington, IN with Father Ron Rieder, presiding.
     In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to Huntington Catholic Schools or donor’s choice in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750.
     Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
