Beta Chi Chapter #1009, Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Sorority, of Huntington thanks the community for its support. This past Thursday, October 29th, the Sorority held a Spaghetti Supper fund raiser including a live and silent auction at the PAL Club on Riverside Drive in Huntington. The fund raiser was a big success. The sorority received many items for the auctions from the Huntington merchants and also items from the Fort Wayne area. The people were very generous when asked for a donation to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A special benefactor donated a half of beef and half of a hog for the auction and donated all of the ground beef for the spaghetti sauce. Schenkel's Dairy provided milk and orange drinks, Bryer's provided ice cream, K-105 broadcasted the event live, Best Buy provided ten of their employees to help with the event, Randy Harvey donated his auctioning services, Vining Slaughter Haus donated the processing of the beef and pork and Huntington University Alpha Gamma Phi Sorority, under the direction of Dr. Mary Ruthi, helped with games for the children that attended the event.
All proceeds will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. It costs St. Jude Children's Research Hospital $1.4 million dollars a day to keep the doors of the hospital open.
