On behalf of the staff and board members of Family Centered Services I would like to express our appreciation to everyone that helped make Family Centered Services’ 6th Annual Duck Race on the Wabash such a huge success. The following volunteers are definitely Duck Race heroes:
- Judge Bill Goshorn, our wonderful Emcee,
- The members of the Bluffton, Ossian and Liberty Center Fire Departments,
- Toby Steffen from Butler, Fairman, & Seufert for coordinating the “duck drop” with the help of NESCO’s heavy equipment,
- Betsy Needler, who was our “Skipper” mascot,
- The 51 Corporate Sponsors who generously contributed monetary support & 56 local merchants who donated prizes,
- The News Banner, Huntington Herald Press, The Huntington County TAB, Wellscountyvoice.com, and Huntingtonfreepress.com for excellent media coverage,
- The Party Gallery for donating balloons,
- James Steury for being our volunteer DJ and donating the use of his sound equipment,
- The many individuals who sponsored the 3, 234 ducks that raced down the river.
An event like the Duck Race takes months of planning and community wide support. As of Monday, August 15th, we had raised $24,760 from the Duck Race. We are so grateful for your commitment to helping Family Centered Services provide vital services to the youth and families in our area.
Sincerely,
Amber Kaushik
Development Director, Family Centered Services
