Palmer named Player of the Week

Huntington University sophomore Miranda Palmer was named the Crossroads League Player of the Week for the week of December 15.

HU cheer clinic set for January 10, 2015

The Huntington University cheer squad will host its annual winter Junior Forester Cheer and Stunt Clinic on January 10 from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Merillat Complex Fieldhouse for kindergarten – 8th graders.

 The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Friday that 455 volleyball student-athletes have been named 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes and among the list of honorees includes two Huntington University players.

No. 21 MVNU Tops HU

The No. 21 HU men’s basketball team (9-3, 1-2) came up one rebound short of logging their second league win Saturday afternoon at Platt Arena where they suffered a disappointing 56-55 loss to Mount Vernon Nazarene University (9-2, 2-1) on a buzzer-beating three by Martell Medley.

After a Derek Hinen trey at the midway point of the second period upped HU’s lead to 48-34, it looked like the Foresters were well on their way to keeping their unblemished record of 6-0 intact against MVNU since the Cougars joined the conference in 2011 but things slowly began to unravel for the hosts after that... Good teams find a way to win and that’s just what the No. 16 Huntington University women’s basketball team did Saturday afternoon when they posted their second consecutive come-from-behind road win, a 73-63 decision, at the expense of Mount Vernon Nazarene University (3-8, 0-3).

The HU men’s basketball team won its sixth consecutive game Tuesday night after a 58-53 victory over Marian University on John Grimes Court on opening night of league play.

The HU women’s bowling team finished 4th while the men brought home 8th at the inaugural Bowling Green State University Falcon Classic at Interstate Lanes last weekend.

Recker named Player of the Week

Huntington University junior Amelia Recker was named the Crossroads League Player of the Week for the week of November 24 in addition to being named the Forester Athlete of the Week.
