Vikings look to bounce back

The Vikings travelled to Carroll Friday night to take on the Chargers. The Chargers beat up Goshen last week while the Vikings fell flat against the Spartans. So on paper the Chargers appeared to have the upper hand but someone forgot to tell the Viking defense.

Vikings drop opener to Spartans

Vikings don’t have an answer for the Spartans aerial attack fall 49-6. The Vikings opened the 2014 season on the road at Homestead and were shocked by the Spartans. The Spartans scored on their first play from scrimmage on a 72 yard pass play and that was a peak at what was to come as the Spartans senior qb Logan Ormsby was on the way to a big night going 16 for 25 for 409 yards and 6 touchdowns... HU men`s tennis blanked

The Huntington men’s tennis team opened up the season Thursday afternoon at Wildwood Racquet Club with a 9-0 loss against one of its toughest opponents on the schedule in Cardinal Stritch University.

HUWS drops 2-1 decision to Concordia

Kaitlyn Dreman’s goal at the 53:26 mark wasn’t enough as the Forester women’s soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Concordia University (Mich.) Thursday afternoon. HU wraps up their road trip to Michigan with a 1-1 overall record.

Another season of Huntington County Special Olympics Bowling begins on Saturday, August 23 at 3:00pm at Rainbow Lanes.
Practices continue through August, September and October with the regional meet in Fort Wayne in early November.

The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association has announced its WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls for the 2013-14 season and among the list of honorees in the NAIA division is the Huntington University women’s basketball team.

Twelve HU squads named NAIA Scholar-Team

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that 1,290 athletic programs have been named 2013-14 NAIA Scholar-Teams.
Of the 14 Huntington University teams eligible to be nominated, 12 teams earned this honor.

HU bowlers shine

Three Huntington University bowlers turned in solid performances at the 2014 Indiana Youth State Masters and Queens Tournament Finals this past weekend.

Freshman Shelby New and Sophomore Connor Brown each placed second at the tourney finals hosted at Hindel Lanes in Indianapolis while rookie Brooke Ewing finished 16th and was awarded the Hugh Gray Memorial Award for mental attitude during the tournament as voted on by tournament officials... HU Tennis Camps Offered

The Huntington University men’s tennis team will host two camps this summer at the Merillat Complex Klopfenstein Courts. The first session is slated for June 9-12 while the second session will run from July 7-10.
