The single elimination tournament recently wrapped up the season for Roanoke Youth Sports’ Coaches Pitch division. The championship game featured a match-up between Video Vault/Tanning and Dennis Grain. Great plays were common and there were plenty of hits as the kids put on an impressive display of baseball and good sportsmanship.
Video Vault/Tanning benefitted from receiving a bye in the first round and dominated their second round opponent, Nelsons’ Farm Produce. Dennis Grain’s route to the championship game also involved a first-round bye and then a matchup with Mike Gibson State Farm. In the opening round of the tournament, closely contested games were the norm as Mike Gibson State Farm battled with C and C Auto Body and Nelson’s Farm Produce clashed with Bussick Orthodontics.
Roanoke Youth Sports is a not-for-profit organization committed to providing area youth with opportunities to participate in baseball, tee-ball, softball, and soccer. This year, over 250 youth played on RYS baseball, softball, and tee-ball teams. Roanoke Youth Sports’ Board of Directors sincerely thanks the sponsors, coaches, parents, and the Roanoke Park Board for their assistance over the season.
