This is the 2nd year now that Crestview has been in the NELSMC conference for sports.  For boys basketball, this year finishing runner-up for both teams out of 9, should start to earn some respect from other teams around the conference.  This is how it happened.

The morning started with both teams playing Wawasee.  The 7th Grade won a nail-biter 33-30, while the 8th grade advance to round 2 by winning 39-27.  Leading scorers were for the 7th grade, Hunter Hollowell with 12 pts, Matt Guhl with 8 and Noah Gass with 7. Spencer Kryder and Patrick Miller each had 3 pts for the Cougars.  The 8th Grade team was led by Jamison Kline with 12 pts, Luke Stroud with 11 pts, and Konner Platt with 9 pts.

In Round 2, the 7th Grade team faced off against a much bigger Milford team and won convincingly 33-25.  Hollowell and Miller each had 10 pts, Guhl 8 pts, Kryder 3 pts, and Dylan Wynkoop 2 pts.  The 8th Grade team faced off against Indian Springs Stars and won 36-33 in a very evenly matched contest.  Stroud led the way with 10 pts, Kline finished with 8 and Platt had 7.

In the championship round the 7th Grade team ran into a well rounded team from Lincoln (Plymouth) and lost 31-39.  Hollowell again had 10 pts, Luke Pulver had 7 pts, Guhl and Miller 5 pts each, Gass and Wynkoop each had 2 pts also.  The 8th grade was out manned physically by a very mature bunch from Edgewood.  They outsized and outplayed the Cougars to claim the 8th grade championship by the score of 33-46.  Stroud 9 pts, Jacob Vinson and Austin Davidson each had 6 pts.

The Cougars teams were coached by John Fisher and Tim Allen (7th Grade), and Dave Kennedy, Kenny Foust, Jim Landrum (8th Grade)
