It was history in the making this past weekend as the HU women’s bowling team competed in the program’s first ever USBC collegiate sectionals at the Smyrna Bowling Center in Smyrna, Tennessee where they finished 13th out of 17 teams with 10,414 pins.

The Huntington North Lady Viking bowling team finished 10th at the Indiana High School Bowling State Finals Saturday afternoon at Aulby’s Arrowhead Bowl in Lafayette.

Tyler Keep Huntington North Senior is heading to the Indiana High School Bowling State Tournament this Saturday in Lafayette.

Playing without a full roster, the Forester men’s bowling team tallied 6,690 pins over nine games to finish 75th at the Blue Gold Classic at Chippewa Bowl in South Bend.

The HU women’s bowling team kicked off the new year with a 37th place finish out of 52 teams at the 2013 Blue Gold Classic at Chippewa Bowl in South Bend.
The Foresters bowled six regular team games on Saturday and wrapped up the tournament with three more on Sunday afternoon.

The Huntington North Vikings went into tournament play at Decatur for Sectional.
The Hoosier Conference Champions took off from the first ball and dominated match play with Tyler Krepp leading the team with a score of 224 followed by AJ Bickel’s 180 and Adam Harris-Shoemaker’s 179 , Jon Scott’s 156 and Zac Tackett’s 155 for a team total of 894
In game two the Vikings improved their performance with Shoemaker stringing together a series of strikes to lead the team with a 243 followed by Tackett’s 214, Krepp’s 192, Scott’s 172 and Bickels 143 for a team total of 964
Then the tournament is seeded for 5 baker style matches to add to the team total of 1858 followed by Bellmont’s 1708 and Norwell’s 1669
At the end of the five games where the team had scores of 190, 223, 175, 186 and 163 for a total of 937 this allowed the Vikings to take their lead of 150 pins to 224 pins putting the Vikings in first place with only a two game Baker style playoff with the second place team Norwell
At the beginning of this the teams are only playing for the Championship title with the total score of these two games... Read More...
