Vikings take second in sectional

The Huntington North golf squad played at home during their sectional and finished second to a strong Norwell team on Friday.

Leading the way for Huntington North was EJ Tackett who shot a 71.  He tied for medalist honors with Norwell's McCormick Clouser.

HNHS golfers second to Norwell

The HNHS golf team was once again paced by EJ Tackett on their way to a season team low of 301. The Vikings 301 was sandwiched in-between Norwell's 293 and Bellmont’s 342.

Viking golfers hit their stride

In golf action on Thursday, the Vikings improved to 9-1 in dual matches by tying their low 18 hole round total of 307 defeating Marion (346) by 39 shots. The Vikes were paced by EJ Tackett who shot a 72, par for the course. Garrett Bracht shot a two over par, 74. The Huntington North boys golf team finished first in a match against Bluffton on May 24. Chris Hoke, coach of the Huntington squad, said, "A good team effort coming off of the weekend."

Vikes are third at conference

On Saturday, the Huntington North Golf team competed in the NCC Conference meet. The Vikes squeezed in for a third place finish with a team score of 333 - one point ahead of Muncie Central (334) and one point behind Marion (332). Huntington North golf took on Eastbrook and Mississinewa on 5/19 at Lafontaine Golf Course. The Vikings took the match with a team score of 158 to 165 for Eastbrook and 174 for Mississinewa. On Saturday, the Huntington North Vikings’ golf team travelled to Fort Wayne’s Orchard Ridge Country Club to participate in the Homestead Invitational. The host school took top prize snapping the Vikings’ winning streak in invitational play. Huntington North golfers earned their third invitational victory at Rochester on Saturday.
