On May 8th, seventy-one runners from Huntington, twenty-nine from Roanoke, three from Markle and five from Warren competed in the Indy Mini-Marathon. The first runner to cross the finish line for Huntington was Austen Davenport who placed 43rd overall for men and seventh in the 20 to 24 division recording a time of 1:15.08. Dan Meyers was second with a time of 1:25.28 finishing 284th overall for men and fourth in his age group (50 - 54). Luke Brenneman recorded a time of 1:25.56 placing 307th overall for men and 29th in the 20 to 24 age group. Nan Hammel placed first for the ladies recording a time of 1:58.24 placing 2263rd overall for women and 344th in the 35 to 39 age group. Paula Weill was close behind placing 2311th and 298th in the 40 to 44 division. Brandy Draughn placed third for the women in Huntington with an overall 2725th for women and 535th in the 30 to 34 division. Thirteen year old Corinne Zay placed 22nd in the 13 to 15 age group recording a time of 2:01.48.
The ladies led the runners in Roanoke with Stephanie Breeding finishing first with a time of 1:36.22 good for 145th overall for women and 43rd for the 25 to 29 age group. Danielle Elwood was clocked at 1:41.00 placing 54th in the 20 to 24 age group and 305th overall for women. Chris Cain was the first male runner to cross the finish line for Roanoke with a time of 1:44.15 placing 4480th overall men and 475th for the 30 to 34 age group.
Brandon Bennett led Markle placing 2242nd overall for men and 161st in the 20 to 24 age group with a time of 1:43.07. Brian Clark led Warren placing 4827th overall for men and 570th in the 45 to 49 age group with a time of 1:43.07.
