Njeri wins Heritage Days 5K

The third annual Heritage Days 5K was held on Saturday and started ten minutes before the parade, giving the crowd an opportutnity to cheer on the runners. The runners burst from the gate at the intersection of Home and Jefferson Street. They raced downhill through downtown on Jefferson Street and turned onto a side street to make the journey back up the hill to finish at Kriegbaum field.

Coach Hines organized the race to raise money for the HNHS Cross Country team's camping trip in August.

The overall winner of the race was Joseph Njeri with a time of 16:03.7. Lauren (Davenport) Johnson won the event for the ladies with a time of 19:16. Age group results are below.
