It was a season cut short as the 5th-seeded Forester women’s soccer team dropped a heart-breaking 2-1 decision to the 4th-seeded Knights of Marian University on Saturday afternoon in first round action of the MCC tournament.

Playing under the lights in the cold and rain, the 13th-ranked Cougars of Spring Arbor University took it to the visiting Forester women’s soccer team 4-1 Wednesday night. With this loss, HU drops to fourth in the conference standings with a 3-2-2 MCC record.

The double elimination tournament wrapped up the season for Roanoke Youth Sports’ 11-14 Soccer program. The championship game featured a match-up between Automatic Door Controls and Frederick’s Photography. Frederick’s Photography wore down Automatic Door Controls to win the game by a score of 4-1, but great plays were common and there were plenty of displays of good sportsmanship by both teams... The single elimination tournament wrapped up the season for Roanoke Youth Sports’ 8-10 Soccer program. The championship game featured a tightly contested match between Sparks Trucking and Shear Techniques. The game was well played with Sparks Trucking eventually winning. The Huntington men’s soccer team traveled to Upland on Saturday where they fell prey to 18th-ranked Taylor University to the tune of 5-0.

After their last two matches ended in double overtime ties, the Forester women’s soccer team finally snapped the trend with a critical 3-2 double overtime win over the visiting Pilots of Bethel College Tuesday night.

For the second time in a week, the Forester women’s soccer team ended in a conference stalemate after two extra periods. This time it was a 0-0 ending against the Wildcats of Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday of HU’s homecoming festivities.
