Special Olympics basketball invitational

The third annual Huntington County Special Olympics Basketball Invitational is shaping up to be a huge success. This year’s teams will be traveling to Huntington to compete in three gyms. Teams from Elkhart, St. Joe, Jay, Grant, Allen, Cass, Kosciusko counties, ARC of Allen County and Angola Rise will travel to Huntington to compete on January 30, 2010. The competition will begin with opening ceremonies at 9:00 a.m., held at Riverview Middle School. Opening ceremonies will feature LBD Trio and American Legion Post 160 Roanoke Color Guard. At the conclusion of opening ceremonies, the teams will compete on the main gym floor at Riverview and Horace Mann Elementary. Skilled athletes will compete in the auxiliary gym at Riverview.
Huntington County's 5on5 team will compete at 9:30 a.m. at Riverview’s main gym. The 3on3 team will play at 10:45 a.m. with the adult team at 11:30 in the auxiliary gym at Riverview.
The event is open to the public, and admission is free.
