The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of January 16-22, 2012. For the second time this season, women’s basketball junior Allison Greene earned the honor for her outstanding effort during the week’s competitions.
Allison Greene, a nursing major from Peru, Indiana (Peru HS), led the Foresters offensively in both wins last week. On Wednesday against Goshen College she posted a game-high 21 points which included going 4-for-7 behind the arc. She also dished out three assists and snagged a career best six steals.
On Saturday Greene was the catalyst in their come-from-behind win against Taylor University. Down by 12 with 16 minutes remaining, the Foresters reeled off 19 consecutive points, ten of which came from Greene, to take a lead that stuck. She finished with a game-high 17 points, five assists and two steals.
The Foresters have won nine of their last ten games. They are back in action on Wednesday at No. 8 Bethel College.
