MCC Assistant Commissioner Announced

By J.D. Collins on Wednesday, November 30th, 2011 | Bookmark and Share

The Mid-Central College Conference (MCC) is taking another decisive step in its commitment to improvement through the hiring of Nathan Miller as MCC Assistant Commissioner. This is a newly created position designed to assist the conference with its new vision, rebranding and implementation of the strategic plan. In early September the Council of Presidents gave Commissioner J.D. Collins the approval for the position, and Collins began reviewing applications in the first weeks of October. A large number of qualified applicants were assessed, and several outstanding candidates were interviewed. From the talented pool of applicants Miller stood out as a natural choice for the position.

Commissioner Collins is confident that Miller will prove to be an excellent addition to the MCC and will provide the skills and energy to drive the marketing and sponsorship initiatives that are central to the MCC Strategic Plan. “Many of the candidates interviewed were strong in the SID role, but (Miller) truly wants to focus on the marketing and sponsorships and assisting me in the implementation of the Strategic Plan”, said Collins. Miller’s work will be vital in helping the MCC improve the marketability of the conference.

“This is a real shot in the arm for the conference to bring in someone of Nathan’s character, capabilities and caliber to assist the MCC with its operational goals and providing better services to the member institutions of the conference,” commented J.D. Collins, MCC Commissioner.

Miller is a 2008 graduate of Taylor University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.  Miller has previously worked at Balasa Dinverno Foltz Private Wealth Management as a Financial Planner and at Claymore Securities as a Regional Sales Associate.  “Nathan’s experience in sales will assist the MCC greatly in obtain sponsorships and marketing the MCC,” stated Collins.

Miller will begin his duties as the Assistant Commissioner in the Mid-Central College Conference effective December 1, 2011. Miller can be reached at nmiller.mcc@gmail.com.
