Blue Racers 4th in Oak Hill Invitational

The Huntington Blue Racers competed in in the Oak Hill invitational on Saturday placing 4th behind the host school, Kokomo, and Norwell.  They defeated Blackford and Marion by scoring 215 pts on the day.  Scoring for the team were:

Kaitlin Biehl, Cody Barton, Zane Cozad, and Emma Gordon placing 5th in the Medley Relay
Carlee Kiefer, Biehl, Alexandra Short, and Barton 6th in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay
Gordon, Lexi Miller, Alivia Eiting, and Evan Kropf 4th in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay
Makenzie Hardacre 11th in the 200 Yard Freestyle and 8th in the 100 Yard Freestyle
Short was 12th in the 200 Yard Freestyle and 12th in the 400 Yard Freestyle
Gordon was 13th in the 200 Yard Freestyle
Barton was 4th in the 100 Yard IM and 2nd in the 100 Yard Breaststroke
Cozad placed 5th in the 100 Yard IM and 3rd in the 400 Yard Freestyle
Eiting placed 7th in the 100 Yard IM and 14th in the 50 Yard Butterfly
Josh Rice placed 12th in the 50 Yard Freestyle and 17th in the 100 Yard Backstroke
Lizzy Dryer placed 14th in the 50 Yard Freestyle
Brandy Culver placed 16th in the 50 Yard Freestyle and 9th in the 50 Yard Butterfly

The Girls and Boys middle school swimming teams continued to struggle on Wednesday night vs. Summit losing both meets.  The girls team lost 80-225, and the boys lost 72-225.  Top finishers for the Blue Racers were:

Blue Racers Swim vs. Adams Central

The Huntington Blue Racers boys swimming team defeated Adams Central on Tuesday evening by the score of 93-65.  The girls were defeated by the score of 62-113.  The boys upped its record to 2-3 while the girls are at 0-4-1.

The girls and boys middle school swimming teams lost to South Adams on Thursday, March 1st.  The girls lost 32-138, and the boys lost 51-114.

Boys Middle School Swimming Win Meet

The Boys Middle School Swimming team got this season first victory on Tuesday evening by defeating Hartford City 91-59, while the Girls team finished in a tie at 82-82.  The teams records to date are the Boys 1-2 and the Girls 0-2-1.

Both Middle School swimming teams competed against Indian Springs on Thursday, Feb. 16th.  The girls team lost 59-110 and the boys lost 67-96.  Scoring points for Huntington were:

Blue Racer Swimming Season Starts

On Monday, the Middle School swim team began its season against Bluffton with both the boys and the girls teams losing.  The girls team lost 48-135, while the boys lost 64-106.

Viking Girls Swim Team takes on Bluffton

The Viking Girls swim team opened up their 2011-2012 season last night with a win over the visiting Bluffton Tigers.  The final score read 95-68 (should have read 105).  The girls took first place in 8 of 11 events. 

Individual first place finishers were:

Sara Karst in the 200 and 500 Freestyle

Cassy Lange in the 200 IM and 100 Backstroke

Cassie Hacker in the 100 Breaststroke

Karst, Hacker, Lange, and Katie Schenkel finished first in the 200 Medley Relay

Huntington Blue Racers were victorious in their meet against Blackford last Wednesday.  The girls won by a score of 100-70.  There were many Crestview students that participated and helped lead them to victory.

The Blue Racers finished their swimming season last night at Salamonie taking on Summit Middle School.  Both teams were defeated.  The girls lost by a score of 79-107.  The boys score was 80-105.
