Vikes compete in State Finals

On Saturday at the State Swimming Finals, Dan Scher competed in the 100 Yard Freestyle placing 15th with a time of 48.15. Skyler Ruschhaupt competed in two events placing 10th in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 51.9; he also swam the 100 Yard Breaststroke in a time of 59.37 placing 12th. The Vikes finished with 14 team points to finish 33rd in the State.
On Friday, the Huntington North Vikings' swim team competed in the State Prelims. The Vikes were in four individual events and two relays. In the 200 Yard Medley Relay, Shaun Marion, Skyler Ruschhaupt, Chris Royer and Dan Scher place 20th, just three-tenths of a second shy of placing 16th which would have given them the chance to swim in the finals on Saturday. The Vikes swam the event in 1:39.64 just over their school record time from last week. The Vikes also finished 20th in the 200 Yard Freestyle beating their school record from last week, but it wasn't good enough to make it into finals. The participates in the relay were Shaun Marion, Skyler Ruschhaupt, Casey Dubuc and Dan Scher with a school record time of 1:28.64.
In the individual events, Dan Scher was disqualified in the 50 Yard Freestyle placing 32nd, but he redeemed himself in the 100 Yard Freestyle finishing 14th with a school record time of 47.55 giving him the chance to compete on Saturday. He lowered his time by over a second. In the 100 Yard Butterfly, Skyler Ruschhaupt finished 10th with a school record time of 51.70 giving him the chance to compete in the finals. Ruschhaupt came back in the 100 Yard Breaststroke finishing ninth lowering his time by almost two seconds, 58.83 beating his own school record. Skyler will also compete in this event on Saturday.

Does anyone know if Skyler's times were school records?
