Behind Colt Ropp's County record setting evening in the Shot Put, and Adam Woods school record setting night in the 200M hurdles Crestview boys 8th grade track team rolled to a county title on Monday evening.  Ropp got the evening rolling with a victory in the discus throwing it 115-3 1/2, followed by Alex Huges at 111-10 and Jordan Seabolt to claim 1-2-3 and from that point CMS never looked back.  Layne Neal then jumped a personal best to get 2nd in the long jump, Houston Lehman added to that to get 3rd.  All Season long Colt Ropp had been shooting for 50 in the shot put ring, and he just about hit it on his first attempt throwing it 49-8 1/4 for a school and county meet record.  Shattering his own school record and the meet record of 48-1 set in 2005 by Dylan Drabenstot.  Again CMS wasn't content with just 5 points for first as Jordan Seabolt then stepped up and threw 42-4 for his personal best getting him 2nd place.  To round out a very overpowering evening for field events Crestview's Houston Lehman then tried to attack the county meet record of 5'10 in the high jump.  After he successfully jumped 5'8 he decided to set the bar and go for it.  He gave it his best effort but just couldn't quite make it.  Again CMS got all 1-2-3 with his teammates Adam Woods and Sebastian Badman tying for 2nd place.

The running events started with the 110 Hurdles.  Parker Brundige got 1st place, Houston Lehman 2nd place, and Steven DeLatorre battled to get 4th place.  100M dash was next with Brundige getting 2nd, and DeLatorre 4th.  Boys 1600M followed with CMS getting shut out in points, but good efforts, by Hamilton, Brown and Justice.  CMS-got back in the blue with a team best of 50.1 in the 4 X100 for Brundige, Woods, Lehman, and Neal.  Justice and Delatorre picked up 3rd and 4th pts in the 400M, and then Adam Woods took over in the 200M hurdles trying for his last time to beat the CMS record that he has been chasing all year.  Adam set it with a time of 29.3 to take home blue.  In the 800m Christian Jones set out on a quick pace hoping to hold on, knowing that his competition in this race was as good as there was all night long.  But his opponent Campbell from Riverview caught him right at the finish line, in what seemed to be one of the most exciting races all night long.  Campbell's 2:20, to Jones"s 2:22, brought Christian 2nd.  In the 200M  CMS got 2-3-4, with Woods, Neal, and Seabolt doing the work, and then the last event of the evening promised to be a good race.  CMS's 4 X 400 team of Hamilton, Justice, Jones and Brundige turned in their best time of the year with a 4:08.3 to win.

7th Grade boys brought home 2nd place by the score of 75-36-26. Lance Clancy won the 200M Hurdles and High Jump,  Clancy also got 2nd in the 110 Hurdles, Patrick Miller-800M, James Schwab-HJ, and 4 X 100 team of Mason Mounsey, Michael Wechsler, Tavin Nunemaker, and Clancy, and the 4 X 400 team of  Matt Guhl, Dillon Valenti, Mounsey and Nunemaker.  3rd place went to Miller in the 1600M, and Nunemaker-100M.  4th place went to Hunter Hollowell-1600M & 800M, Mounsey-100M, Wechsler-200M, Guhl-400M, Valenti-800M, Grant Baumgartner-Discus.
