WESTON CLOSE TOURNEY

The Weston Close Memorial Wrestling Classic will be held on Thursday, December 30th, 2010 at Huntington North High School. This is the seventh year for the Holiday Invitational. It has been renamed the Weston Close Memorial Wrestling Classic in honor of Weston Close. Weston, who died in a car wreck, won two varsity letters for the Viking wrestling program.
ADMISSION PRICE: Admission will be $5 for all day pass.

Huntington North Columbia City Logansport Noblesville
Eastbrook Marion
Ft. Wayne Snider Southern Wells
Woodlan West Noble
TIME SCHEDULE: Weigh In – 7:30 am Wrestling begins at 8:30 am
TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
Teams will be divided into two pools – Pool A and Pool BEach wrestler will compete against those within his pool (4 matches).Wrestlers will compete for final tournament placing against the opposite pool place competitor with the equivalent place.Criteria for individual ties within the pool:Head to head competitionGreatest number of pinsGreatest number of technical fallsGreatest number of major decisionsGreatest number of 3 point fallsGreatest number of 2 point fallsGreatest number of takedownsCoaches vote (pool coaches only)Team scoring will follow NFHS team scoring procedures (6 places scored).
AWARDS:
Medals will be awarded to weight class champions.Ribbons will be awarded to weight class place winners (2-6).Team Trophy will be awarded to the Championship Team.Individual trophy will be awarded to the most outstanding wrestler of the tournament (as selected by tournament head coaches).
